Mission statement:

We aim to provide a secure, nurturing and relaxed environment, which offers a well-balanced curriculum enabling children to develop mentally, physically, socially and emotionally while learning self-discipline, independent thinking and building creativity.

Introduction

Ms. Lo Mo Man is a highly experienced kindergarten operator and the founder of Deborah educational Institute. In 1978 she opened her first kindergarten in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The school became popular quickly because of the excellent curriculum and environment provided for its young students. As a result, Ms.Lo expanded her kindergartens and opened others throughout Shantin, Tai Po, and Tin Shui Wai, Hung Hom and Tseung Kwan O. Ms Lo now operates 11 kindergartens and 9 international Play Schools employing over 400 staff and educating more than 4000 students. Many of the kindergartens are in large independent, purpose-built buildings, which are outfitted with educational equipment. The majorities of these schools are self-owned and contain up to sixteen classrooms.

Shenzhen now has two Deborah Kindergartens, which have adopted the practices and curricula from their neighboring Hong Kong schools. These quality schools nurture and care for young children while providing them with innovative and educational learning experiences and curricula that prepares students for primary schools

Curriculum:

The curriculum, developed by specialist, facilitates natural learning in a stimulating and motivating atmosphere. A specially designed phonics syllabus allows children to learn not only English reading and writing, but also correct pronunciation. Music and drama are incorporated into the academic curriculum to promote children’s love of learning and desire to take knowledge. Computer software from the USA and Canada encourages children’s it proficiency skills while learning about different themes. Large and small motor activities are integrated into themes and allow for children’s self expression. The many activities and modern approaches to early child education in Deborah education institute schools ensure a balanced and child-centered curriculum.

Organization:

Certified local teachers are employed who have excellent skills in early childhood education and a passion for teaching. European native English speakers who are university degree holders will teach the English language curriculum in order for children to develop the correct pronunciation, intonation and rhythm.

Supervisors:

The supervisor, Ms Lo man, graduated from Hong Kong Grantham College of Education as a registered teacher and was an Administrative master in an aided school. Since 1978, she has been involved in the development of Hong Kong’s preschool education sector.

All of the headmistress hold the required certificates in early childhood education and has the substantial experience working in local kindergartens.

Equipment:

Learning centers are in place in all classrooms including a library corner, language walls, science and math corners and play corners.
